I'm actually thinking about selling my Evo...
I can't believe I'm actually thinking about selling my Evo. But after making close to 500 whp, and feeling like I've been there done that with the Evo, I'm kind of tired of it and ready to move on to something different. I have about $25,000 invested and it only has 18,000 miles. My Fiancee and I plan on starting a family at the end of this year, along with me starting my masters next Fall. So I feel like I am stuck between a rock and a hard place on what I should do. Do you think I should sell it? If so, for how much? Or should I keep it? My fiancee doesn't know how to drive manual, so we could never switch cars if I needed extra seats, etc. She will be getting an FX35. So I'm looking for something with performance and flexibility. I've been so deep into the Evo scene that I don't know what's out there now. Can you guys offer some help? Cheers

maybe look into the new G35 with 295hp i believe it is! |
A friend of mine and I have been looking at the Volvo S40 T5, dunno if it'd be enough to replace the Evo, but it's a nice car for the price, and with just a cheap chip upgrade, it can be plenty fast for a cushy semi-luxury sedan daily driver...I say sell it if you have to, but only if you HAVE to, teach her to drive stick, it's not that hard, and then she can switch with you

hell no don't sell it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i have a little one on the way & neither evo will be sold i guarantee it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, if you have to get softer suspension for a nicer ride, but I say still keep the Evo, it does have the child anchors and everything :D

You will never get the money out of it, that you put of it... so keep it and be happy.....

If it's paid off then keep it. I'd like to think if you could spend 25K in mods then you already paid off the car first.
If not sell the mods separately to the car and get rid of it. I don't have an EVO but I have a car payment and I'd give anything to be able to put that money elsewhere. You already know where you are going to use your money. WADAD |
Selling the car in stock congfiguration is the only way to go if you want to recover the highest percentage of your outlay. Speed equipment is worth about half of what you paid for it if you sell it separately and do not make package deals (what would we do without E bay). The best of luck to you with your up comming nuptuals and graduate studies.

Although berated for its bland appearance the 2005 GTO with its great fit and finish, generous back seats, and most importantly 0-60 4.8 from its 400HP 400Tq LS2 is just an idea. It's selling for 32,995 for the 6spd and dealers have been reportedly marking down 1500 right off the bat. Although the looks aren't exactly exhilarating, with the sports appearance package (check out the most recent SEMA show, they have pix of the appearance package equipped GTO) they look pretty slick. Anyways for the price and performance which includes a backseat and an interior that has been acclaimed by all who review it, it's atleast worth a test drive. Lastly, don't let people tell you it's a POS Pontiac because it's actually a rebadged Holden Monaro from Australia and its quality surpasses anything previously made by Pontiac. I'm about to sell my 350Z and I'm strongly considering an EVO but I'm also going to test drive an 05' GTO and a few others. Hope this helped.

There is no way I could part my car out. I already sold most of my stock parts. So its going to have to go as is...modded. Do you think asking 35k is too much?

I have 2 kids ... 10yrs and 9mths with an EVO.. just drive safe and there is no problem. .. but if your really tyring to get rid of the evo that your choice.. no need for our approval...but you can have one, even with your turbo kit if you want..... Whatever u chose goood luck!!!!
