Where's the STI????????
Picked up the March issue of Super Street. They had round 2 of their Time Attack challenge. EVO's took 5 of the top 7 spots!!!!!!!!!!! Here were the places, drivers, & times:
1) Sun Auto Cyber EVO (Tarzan Yamada) 1:48.906-new track record! 2) Bozz Performance EVO (Tarzan Yamada) 1:54.250 3) Signal Auto R34 Skyline GT-R (Tarzan Yamada) 1:55.640-had old record of 1:54.2 4) Truner Motorsport BMW 325I (Justin Marks) 1:56.741 5) Sparco USA EVO (Rhys Millen) 1:58.475 6) XS Engineering EVO (Tarzan Yamada) 1:58.606 7) Evo Tuner EVO (Vesko Kozarov) 1:58.799 As you can see, EVO's rule the track again & also Tarzan was pretty busy driving more than 1 car. Also the Sun EVO is 1 second off the HKS TRB-02 EVO on the Tsukuba circuit in Japan. |
I would love to see Vishnu compete in these competitions, any ideas on how they would do? Well I have to see the issue, but how many STis competed in the competition? Man what is up with the USDM STi, in Japan the STi is much better competition, I mean in some cases it's gotten the better of the EVO, EVO still rules though{thumbup} . But here in the states the STis are just lagging, wow I could have never imagined how much of an impact changing engines would have on that car.

What's an STI???
|
there were no STI's but there were 2 WRX's placing 8th & 25th respectively.
{offtopic} man it's always the CAR b4 the GIRL. you need the car to get the girl anyway. the EVO is such a looker that she will think everyone is checking her out!!! |
Wow so they didn't even compete, in ways that can be there excuse for not placing well, because they weren't even there. Then again it brings up the question of why they weren't there? I mean all these STi owners love to talk about how much power there making and this and that, but when it comes down to it, they don't show up or just get beat down when they do.
{offtopic} Yeah I know car before girl, but naw while I love the EVO to death, the girl thought it would be a bad idea when it comes to money. I guess she was kind of right, actually no she wasn't, but I believe she has my best interest in mind. The EVO will always be my favorite car, but the girl has always been there for me and I love her. Anyhow I'll get an EVO in the next couple of years, that's why I refuse to slap a single mod on the Audi, cuz I'm just counting the days till I get my EVO. |
Ha ha, that's cute. What the difference between a highly modded WRX and an STi anyway? Not much. They probably chose to go with the more proven platform then trying to deal with the 2.5L engine, maybe if if we had an indepth analysis of each car, some of the WRX's might have even had JDM 2.0L Sti engines. I think some from last year did. But saying the Evos are lucky because the STi's didn't show is pretty weak.

i got that issue too and its pretty cool. i personnally am going for all AWD cars. b/c of the evo i have fell in love with AWD and what really got me was that the twin supercharged ferrari got its a$$ kicked. 12 sec. slower than the cyber evo and got pushed around by: a 350z, s15 silvia, celica, lotus exige, civic, wrx and then the evos one bmw and one skyline. that funny to me
oh well evo are awesome thats all i got to say. James |

nice results!!! I am definitely going to check out this magazine as soon as I get a chance to get to the bookstore.

this may be an evo forum but we know the sti just cant compete once you up the anty....
|
Little knowledge is dangerous .... I don't know what classes were competing but for any of the J-imports to hand it to a ferrari, I'm going to assume that it was an open unlimited class, where any modification is allowed to car. If internal engine modifications were allowed, I'm sure we would see some fast STis ....

If I were to pick a stock car I would pick the STI. If I were to pick a car I wanted to fix up I would pick any Evo.
