How's mitusbishi's paint? Poll

Please let us know your experience with :mitsu: paint quality. From the detroit auto the red looked all beat us with swrils on it already. I'm concerned b/c most JDM car have crappy paint and most domestic car has nice paint jobs thanks to du-point.

Also please comment base on experience. It'll be helpfull with model and color specified.

thanks for your input in advance.

Personally, I would be interested to hear comments from Evo owners specifically about the Evo's paint.

gtr, as far as your poll goes, I vote for #3. :p

I read a post on lancerregister basically saying the Evo has thin paint and isn't that great...chips easily.

well thick paint adds weight

Zoltok Jan 12, 2003 10:22 PM

oh well
let's just strip off all the paint and then the car will save a pound or two. We can have metallic "colored" cars {blob}

Longfury Jan 12, 2003 10:25 PM

well i wouldn't go that far for weight saving but going thin on the paint saves a few pounds and a few dollars

why would mitsu do a pos job on painting like they did on our car with there soon 2 be flagship car?

Guack007 Jan 12, 2003 10:40 PM

I thought it looked better then the WRX paint

Secret Chimp Jan 13, 2003 08:17 AM

I can't imagine the paint is of any better or worse quality than the paint on every other Mitsu product....So if you want to see the paint quality, go down to your local dealer showroom.

This stuff has been around for a while but not catching on too well. I know guys that have it on expensive car's and did a lot of good preventing chips/scratches

I was going to get a red Evo, but after the seeing the red Evo in the LA auto show, that dull red color just pale in comparison to my 3000GT's bright red color. I think I'm going to get either a blue or silver one now.

true true.... I saw that red and I was like.... uhhhh....... OOH SILVER..... mmmmmmmm  :D

You must realize that you can't really judge colors when you are at a show like that. The flourescent lighting inside those show halls really has a tendancy to make all colors look faded in appearance.

Guack007 Jan 14, 2003 02:25 PM

I thought the red at the suto show looked awesome. I was almost thinking of getting it instead of the blue one I have on order.
