Friend's MR's reverse just went out???
 

ok weird situation...friend has a MR brand new.
he was driving it down a small street at a pretty steady speed up to 2nd, busted a U turn at a normal rate of speed, then all of a sudden his car died out like it was stalling or something, then smoke came outta his engine bay smelling like clutch. He was near a curb so tried to put it in reverse, at first it wouldnt go in, then he got it into reverse, but when he did, it just revved like it was a toasted clutch, but when he puts it in first, it moves. its just his reverse, doubt its syncros cuz it engages

Sounds like a broken clutch disc..Tell him to take it to the dealer and raise some real hell, mabye get some free factory options for his inconvienence.

sounds like a clutch to me..maybe he was burning the hell out of it before and it was just its time to finally go out...or maybe its a defective part, take it to the dealership :)

well, after i got my clutch installed, my reverse start to make a freaking clunking noise.

stock evo clutches just suck plain and simple.

There are MORE sucky drivers than there are sucky stock clutches...IMHO...
