wtf? Meguiar's Wax is terrible!

So I tried Meguiar's new NXT Tech Wax last weekend...

I must be retarded, but my car def does not shine as well as the regular Turtle Wax stuff...I used the gell bottle with the sponge....

anyone else think this NXT is the best stuff on earth? b/c I don't...I didn't apply it in the sun, and my car was washed and dried...so I don't know, I'm super dissappointed.

any pointers on what I might be doing wrong?

Is it just the fact my Evo is Silver and it just doesn't bling on Silver as it would on...RR or BBY or EB?

I've had bad experiences with this as well. Even with carnuba Meguiars seems like a thin, cheap wax. Turtle wax is better.

Man, I agree. I washed and dried my car, then applied the same wax. It actually caused swirl marks!!! The crap is trash. I made sure i read the instruction and read them again and again and agian becuase I couldn't believe what it did to my paint. Worthless, I get better result from the in between touch up spray!!

i've never had problems with the NXT. i wash w/meguiars car wash, then clay bar, then use the wax applied AND buffed by hand. i let wax set in sun for about 2-5 min, then hand buff. never any problems. also i use the detailer spray after every wash in between wax jobs. only wax twice a year. the NXT even took out the soot off my rear bumper where the exhaust is. since i got flashed for 101 octane, no soot. also have no swirl marks due to hand buffing. 100% cotton shirts or cotton baby diapers work well.

Yeah, and the product even said there should be no swirl marks...but its so much easier to create the swirls with that than with Turtle Wax...I was still wipeing off swirls I found days after the wash!

man, that's $15 I'll never get back for the rest of my life.

On a totally unrelated subject, anyone want to buy some new Meguiar's NXT wax for me preused? Only $10...{devil}

I used the NXT wax the other day on my Rally Red EVO and I must say I'm satisfied with it, It took out a great deal of swirl marks and it gave it a mirror-like finish when I was done. Even though the car gets dusty and dirty you can still see a nice shine from the wax. I first washed the car and dried it completely, then claybar'd it, and then applied the wax as the sun was setting. I give it a thumbs up!

Am I missing something? Do I have use the clay bar for better results?

I've used Nxt and it works real good. It removed a lot a swirl marks on a black car. {thumbup}
It's always a good idea to clay bar the car before applying any wax if you feel grit on the paint after washing.
Follow the proper steps.

After you wash your car and your paint feels like there is layer of small bumps of dirt embedded in the paint then you mostly likely need to use the clay bar. The car wax will go on so much better and easier after you've clay bared your car.

There should be some steps on the back of the bottle that you might want to follow. For me, I just wash my car, gloss it and then put the wax on and its SHINY!

show and shine thread guys! NOT HERE!

Stop wasting your time guys, Klasse AIO and Sealant is spectacular. It goes on easier than anything else on the market and really isn't that expensive considering how long a bottle goes. I refuse to use anything else. Pinnacle may give a deeper look but to me the 500% increase in application time isn't worth it. Give Klasse a try!

scherejs Apr 14, 2005 08:30 AM

i used nxt and hate it. i finally put up the money to get zaino and now i will never go back. i've heard great things about klasse and pinnacle, but no personal experience. all i can say is that zaino is the ****.
