what's up with my car?
Took my car in to fix a clunk noise plus a little bit of give to the left front wheel. It felt like the wheels was a little louse if that makes any sense. Anyway, I was told that my wheel bearing needed to be replaced, they did that under warranty. That did not fix the problem; at that point, they ordered a new strut to the left. Got the work done today, the noise and the give are gone. However, my car now vibrates during braking from around 75mph. I also think that car is puling a little to the right. Lastly, my steering wheel looks off center.
Do I need to get the car aliened after the strut work? Also, what’s up with the vibration during braking? I would appreciate some feedback on this as I am taking the care back tomorrow and want to be prepared to deal with their crap. Thanks, |
the vibration during braking sounds like warped rotors
|
Was the vibration present before the installation of the new strut? If not, you may want to take it back and explain what happened after they worked on it and released the vehicle to you.
If it was present before, then I would say warped rotor. I have seen similar problems from uneven brake pads wear. |
how much does it cost to replace rotors or get them fixed? thanks
|
If it's not warped really really bad, they can just turn the rotor, it doesn't cost too much. It's not a hard task.

Shady: OEM replacement rotors are pricey. Not sure on the exact price. Probably better off going with Brembo, Wilwood or Baer for new rotors. MM charges an assload. |

Thanks, |
no, the vibration was not presente when I dropped the car off. I am really not sure what is going on

if they torqued the wheels too tight it can warp the rotor
|

i am going to take a look at what they torqued my left wheel. |
