Availabilty of EVO's during the year??
I have a deposit on the new STi and the EVO 8 is my back up plan. Since they are going to be available really soon, I am wondering if I could get one in the summer or fall if my STi deal don't work out as planned. How many are they importing during the year? Both are equally impressive cars and I saw the EVO in person and it truly a sweet ride!

current plan is 6500 cars.

That was magazine's guessimate. I think they said 4500-5000 for this year. Maybe more if they are able to ramp up production.

I think that :mitsu: will make more if there is still ademand for them.

At the auto show in Milwaukee my District Manager said the total number of EVO's would be 5,353. Thats what I was told

My $0.02:
My dealer has a couple of allocated evos available now, MSRP guaranteed. My opinion, I bet that those (allocated cars not yet spoken for) will dry up pretty quickly once the car comes out. There will be the usual initial surge of buyers once the car hits the streets. Assuming deliveries start in mid-march, I'd imagine that the remaining allocated but unclaimed evos will dry up by the end of April. Then I bet it will be around the end of summer (august/september) when supply catches back up with demand, and cars will be found on some dealers lots ready for walk-in traffic at MSRP. A lot of it depends on the markets. Probably going to be impossible to walk in and buy an Evo (i.e. without putting down a deposit and waiting for a car to arrive) in Cali or NY unless you are willing to pay over MSRP. (btw, any of you getting screwed for over MSRP or who are deep in line, if you are interested in getting in touch with my dealer send me a PM or email (evo at jedinite dot com). |

I do finance for :mitsu: in Las Cruces, NM. I talked with our district manager and he quoted somewhere around the 6500 mark for release of the evo. So it sounds like we all are on the same page. He said that if :mitsu: sold the evo very well, they are looking at increasing it to 10,000 and thats it. My dealership only sells an average of around 15 to 20 :mitsu: per month, so we only got alotted one evo for the first allocation. :crap:
but lucky me pulled some strings and we got an extra allotment. So I will see you guys on the road in the future. Good thing is, I live in a city with a population of around 80,000, and I will be close to the only one, minus a max of 3 to 5 other people (that is pushing it!!) that will have the evo. Cant wait to take it to the track in Las Cruces, and El Paso, and rip some ass! |

I just read in the last Sport Compact Car mag that Mits "Will make as many as they can sell!" That was supposedly quoted by a Mits Corporate person... Meaning that they will not be a limited production.... So, it'll be there people, don't let the dealers rip you off....

I made up my mind and I am going to wait 2 or 3 months to see what happens. If :mitsu: makes more cars then ill have more chances on getting one under MSR {blob} {blob} {blob} if not them I probably will be EVO less till next year
Who is with me.... :shoot: :mitsu: :usflag: :usflag: :usflag: :usflag: :usflag: :usflag: :usflag: |
