The EVO....1st and last Mitsu I'll ever purchase!

I'd been an unfortunate victim of the P0300 plague. I had several "reflashes" from my local Mitsu dealer and from my experience the reflash is only a temporary fix. I'm tired of driving down the highway wondering when the next p0300 code will appear. I'm tired of having my car stutter every time the damn thing does appear. I'm upset that I get charged $76.00 for every freak'n reflash and I'm sick of having to waste my time waiting at the dealership while the car is getting flashed. I'm angry that Mitsu can not permanently fix the problem and I am shocked that there hasn't been a recall. :mitsu: = {thumbdwn}

You should create a list of owners who have this problem and petition mitsubishi.

I remember when I had a 1.8T GTI, the VW community did this and they got a recall for the faulty window regulators and ignition coil packs.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

I know its a crappy workaround, but you can buy a Launch Creader OBD code reader(~$45). its small enough to leave plugged in, and when left plugged in, it can actually eliminate the P0300 code and associated misfiring. do some searches and read up on it.

Yep it sucks and this is also my first and last MIT.

If you're going the band-aid route look into this inside of the creader. It should be the same thing but much cheaper. I bought one and works like a charm in reading and clearing codes.

I've read some threads about the creader and so far it seems to magically fix the problem.

-thanks for the input

The dealer charges you $76 to reflash your ecu? Is your car out of warranty?

SR20DE-T Aug 28, 2005 09:17 PM

Would the lemon law apply?

bluebanana23 Aug 28, 2005 09:18 PM

did you buy the car when it first came out?

mooreboost Aug 28, 2005 09:18 PM

Send it to Dynoflash or TT.

/thread.

sorry to hear about your problem buddy, did you ever think about just going stand alone. I assume if you go that route you'll shouldn't get that code anymore. I could be wrong. anybody that has stand alone please put your input on this.
