Calling all EVO Auto-X'ers
What are you guys running for a suspension setup?
I've been in the Auto-x scene with my old VW, just switched over to the Evo a few weeks ago and am looking to build her up for this coming season.. Was able to catch one event with the Evo at the end of this season, and it was absolutely amazing to drive.. Just curious what you guys are running, what is good, and what is not so good for the course/track. I AM planning on running springs, and not coils, for a while so money can be spent elsewhere on the car as well.. Lets see some setups! |
I'm running K-Sports...but it's full coilovers though....
|
I am running Tanabe sustec pro/ R compound 18s/ rear strut bar....for now that is it for suspension and grip.

currently using the tanabe gf210 with the stock struts.got the hotchkiss swaybar also.the tanabe's the second stiffest springs for the evo and theyre pretty good.not too stiff and still comfy for daily driving. for tires i have the toyo t1r's at 255/35/18 on 18x8.5 rims which is ok for now since its my daily driver but im saving up for another set of wheels with some wider and stickier tires.

Cusco 02r, Cusco rear upper and lower, Cusco front sway lower, need new rubber. But my car is really responsive in the turns.

If you want a REALLY good setup, you should get some custom Buddy Club's or JIC's from John Mueller at Road Race Engineering/Chassis. RRE/C knows the Evo suspension setup better than pretty much anybody and your times will greatly benefit from a custom setup.

the best come with a price... if you look at any magazine with the evo in it... ( sport compact, import tuner ) basically the tuner challenges... most of the top ones are muellerized... there are others... don't get me wrong, but most of the featured evos have Muellerized... somewhere on the car...

There is a reason that RRE does all of Mitsubishis concept car's suspension. |
