Evo IX's stock potential...and I'm loving it!!!
 

So I bought an Evo IX, I now have 3000+miles. Anyways, my friend has a wrx w/ an up-pipe, turbo-back and a flash. He just put on a sti top-mount. Last year w/o the top-mount he ran a 13.39. Anyways, after detailing my car we go for a 2nd gear pull and I pulled on him hard. We went twice. We had to shut it down early though, but not after getting good distance on him.

He was convinced he would beat me or give me a heck of a run, because he beat a Evo 8 hands down. The Evo 8 had a turbo back and a boost controller. This Evo 8 is also a friend of ours. I also beat him as well w/ my old stage 4 wrx w/ a fmic. I also beat stock Evo 8 w/ or w/o a turbo back, both when I had my fmic and not.

The catch is when I had my wrx w/ a fmic, It would take awhile before I pulled on my friend with the wrx I mentioned about about, BUT with the Evo IX I pull on him from the rpms downlow to up-high.

This is the 1st comparison that I can make, but by his words/expression..."Man your car is sick!" He was shocked I pulled on him so fast, because of Evo 8's he has beaten, Sti's, and Evo 8's I have raced. Plus I'm stock.

The pulls were done on back/close roads. If I offended anyone about racing, mods you may delete.

even better... racing on a 2 lane road *sigh*

Guys...in 2 weeks im gonna do an ecutek flash on my stock evo IX!
What do u think about the gains.... like do u have a dinosheet or do u know how much whp ill get out of it?

Wait till you start modding. Different animal hands down. Be safe.

I love the IX mine has been so impressive with very little mods you can make 375AWHP.

I wish my friends drove WRX's!! My friends drive juiced SS's and 125 shot Z06's needless to say my car is by far the slowest in the group.......missing the cobra :(

With the bigger TMIC it does not necessary means he will run faster. He wont heat soak as much but there is barely any heat soak in QM runs. Yes it will make a difference on the road race but on the QM track he won’t see crap.

The top mount IC has better throttle response than front for sure since the IC pipes are shorter. However, Mitsu have minimized that with EVO IX to almost zero.

Anyways, I am sure it was a lot of fun. I still can’t get my EVO IX over 1K miles to push her :(

The IX is showing so much potential. The car has exceeded my expectations. Your in for a ride. Eventhough there is only a small bump in Hp in the 9's. They pull hard. Start modding A.S.A.P.
