question bout EVO's
 

so i plan to purchase one within this year, i plan to trade me 05 rsx in for it..

what i want to know, is that i have been browsing around here for like a year, and im still confused as to what evos are what..

i hear some ppl say they have gsr evo's, rs evo's are they different through the years, is the gsr and rsx for 06 and 05. i think its the 5spd if im correct.

also what is the average price range for a used 05 evo and the average price for 06 evo IX's brand new.

Basically the GSR is the model that people used to distinguish between the light weight RS and the top of the line 6spd MR model. The Gsr is the only model available with ssl (sound, sun, leather options). The average price for 05 are around 27-30K, maybe you can find lower but for that price you can get a brand new IX with a couple more K's. Hopefully this will help and good luck with the process.

gsr = normal evolution 8 at dealer, 5 speed, power everything
rs = 5 speed, stripped down version, aluminum roof, no power windows, no wing, that kinda thing
mr = most expensive version, 6 speed, bilstein shocks, al roof, sonic the hedgehog

03 was only gsr's, 04 is when the rs became available, 05+ had all 3

so the rs evo IX comes with no wing, and the stripped down verison? ive seen an evo forsale without the wing

rs is a stripped down version, no power anything/radio/ac/abs etc... the regular VIII have all the power stuff and abs and you can get them with leather and sunroof stuff like that. the mr is the "top of the line" with a 6-speed, bbs rims, blisten shocks, vortex generator and i think a few more horses etc... all the IXs have mivec and like 10 more horse or something. im pretty sure thats how it goes.

sp basically for the evo viii it comes with all the options that the ix desnt come with?

03-05=evo viii, 06+ = evo ix, the rs, gsr and mr are trim levels, all of which were available on the 05 evo viii
