What's the life expectancy of stock HID's

I leave mine on all the time and then started wondering how much they cost to replace.

You can find replacement D2S bulbs on ebay for under ~$100. They will usually last 2-3000 hours.

You dont have to worry about them burning out.

Turning them on initially actually takes more life out of them than running them does.

I leave mine on all the time... allowing auto off to deal with them... original OE bulbs since 03'. Now I'm NOT saying this is good for them...

There is a gas in HID bulbs no filement like hologen. I've heard they 5-8 times longer than hologen

The lights will turn off with the motor.

My 03, the right headlight went out, got it replaced at dealership. Left one is still good.

I read somewhere that they are rated at approximately 2400 usable hours.
