Does everyone's HKS Carbon Ti Exhaust hang like this?

The exhaust just hangs a little too low and to the right for me.. I was wondering if I was the only one having this dilemma? Maybe some Kartboy hangers will fix this? I dunno, anyone have any suggestions without riggin the original setup? Thanks in advance!

bend the hangers?

res04 May 22, 2006 07:22 AM

This exhaust is overengineered thanks to all the silly hanger replacement devices it comes with. I could not align mine for the life of me, neither could 2 installers without wanting to bend stuff - no thanks.

For the record mine hung that low too, so I dumped it.

And Kartboys wont make a difference, I tried.

yep, scraped mine so many times that I wore a hole in the muffler. I hate that piece of ****.

Mine doesn't hang that low, my problem was that the midpipe was rubbing the drive shaft. The bracket that wraps around the muffler is made to be bent, try that before you scrap it.

mine hangs very similar to yours maybe a little bit higher.. my car is lowered but so far i havent hit anything coming out my drive way... this is probably one of the most quiet exhaust that i've heard on an evo so far... good luck with it

thanks for the replies... res04,thanks for lettin me know that the kartboy hangers won't work, maybe i'll shorten the hanger in the middle somehow...

zion, yeah I agree with you, sometimes I forget I have the exhaust... a good thing I guess..

anybody else do anything else to fix their's? Thanks.

You will have the same problem as that is the way it is. I have installed 6 of these with the same issue. The only way to fix it is to get a welder shorten the hangers some.

guy I knew bought the universal 3 inch carbon ti and went to a muffler shop and had them fab up the 3 inch piping and everything so it hung just where he wanted it to, at just the right angle and everything, and he saved himself about 150 bucks

HKS has that problem for some reason. All the ones I have seen are the same. If you are going w/ 2.75 you might as well get the Apexi. It sits freakin' perfect.
