Question about BPU's and flash.

I just got an axle back exaust because I didn't really have a ton of money to get a TBE yet.
So I ended up coming into a few extra $$'s courtesy of the local indians. ;)
So, I want to just get a TBE and works panel filter for now. I know I'm going to need a flash, but when should I? If I install these now, will I encounter any ill effects or should I just wait a few weeks and do everything at once?
Thanks!

Youll be ok with the TBE and drop in. No ill effects. Befor you flash Id pick up a MBC then say hello to about 340whp. GL and happy modding

I was Just going to have them bump up the boost with the flash, but yeah I guess for an extra few bucks, it'd be nice to have control over it. :D

Control +, More consistant boost

Mbc ???

The ECU will control boost better and will be harder for dealers to detect. Yes it easier to crank boost up with MBC, but if done properly the ECU setup should be better.

ECU can't set levels of boost that well. It can only remove the taper - it can't really change boost levels unless you use hose modifications. You also can never change your boost if you rely on the flash, which is unappealing.

Dynoflash & ECUTeck both CAN control the boost and the with the ECU you can set exact psi (Al did and recommended origianally; Shiv (Vishnu) does it; TTP does it; AMS does it; etc..). In fact, the beauty about the ECU is that it compensates for weather changes, so actually I feel the ECU is technically better. That said, I agree with you that MBC is EASIER to change / adjust if you don't have the setup perfected (or want to switch to race gas and bump up the boost).

The best will be when the open source solutions are controlling boost, then one could just toggle between two maps :).....

Adequate boost levels with minimal taper is difficult without adding boost pills inline. I would recommend MBC over boost controlled flash.

ECUFlash opensource has the ability to control boost just like other reflash equipment. It is no different than Techtom or Ecutek in that respect.

Like I said, to run higher boost, they have to use boost hose modifications with pills. There's not numbers they can select in the tuning software that sets the boost higher.
