Evo's on the beach

I live in Pismo California. Pismo is known for the dunes for dirt bike riders and what not. During the summer months tourist flock to the beaches and there are no more quiet beaches except down a mile or so which you can drive on. With a IX am I good to go on the hard sand/minor salt water puddles or should I just keep it on the street and deal with the people. I know its a rally car and can take some abuse but common sence says salt water=no bueno {thumbdwn} Stories of people driving in the sand would be helpful too.

Hit a nice dip in the sand=bye bye undertray/intercooler

People have done it many times and im sure there wouldnt be any direct problems other than if you have ever been to the beach you know that sand gets evrywhere. Another thing to think about is mitsy's horrible clearcoat and paint, sand will eat that s*** up. my 2 cents.

Getting sand embedded in all the little nooks and crannies and bushings = :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown

I say go for it. Ive seen a few subbies out on the sand having fun I dont see why the Evo couldnt handle it..

There is a 15mph limit I think but they cant catch what they cant see. I also would like to pull up to the gate that lets me in and hear them asking me WTF are you doing with a car on the beach lol.

Yes I would wash it inside and out as soon as I got back from the beach.

pismo....nice. i'd do it. just wash it out good after and watch where you're driving. ums...and the stock advans wont be so great in the sand compared to other tires...but you'll be fine. if you're worried about the wax then just clay and wax it after.

When i was there i saw the sh!ttiest cars as well as WRXs on the beach but high tide goin across the really deep ruts with water would scare me.
