Shouldn't do this.. :)

Go to the little blurb about the Evo..

http://www.motortrend.com/autoshows/...t02/index.html

Let's see.. mid 2003?
Or is it late 2002 or early 2003 or early 2004? I wish Motortrend would stick with a date.

Yeah I totally agree with ya. At least everyone says they will come out around the same time (Jan. 03 to spring 03). Hopefully they will hurry it up for us and finish up the damn emissions and crash testing.

Actually, I'm one of those rare people that actually want the evo to be delayed. I'll be going to college when it comes to the states, and won't need the car. Since I want to be the first one out of the people I know to have an evo vii, I want it to be delayed. Although I want it so bad I can't wait any longer.:D

I'm graduating this year and looking to get a new car in about 6 months.. so, the sooner the better for me (assuming the thing is cheap enough ie. less than 25K)

broeli Feb 25, 2002 11:03 AM

Don't count on it being under 25k. You may have to get a WRX :D

Hooby Feb 25, 2002 11:43 AM

you can't even get a Rex fer that much....add on a couple options and yer alredy sittin at 'round $27-28k

"Price is promised to be under $30"

I am definitely liking that. I was worried it would be $30,000.

Huh? They must be inflating the hell out of WRX's around your part of town. You can get it for a little over invoice these days. Try $22,500-$23,500. Your price estimate is way too high.

Lan Evo Feb 25, 2002 08:17 PM

I think Hooby is talking about the "out of door" price, not just the car itself...

Soleman20 Feb 25, 2002 09:26 PM

Hooby is right. Got to the subaru website and build yourself a WRX. With every option, the car comes to $32,000!!!!!!

Erik@MIL.SPEC Feb 25, 2002 10:50 PM

Well, my dad just got a WRX wagon for like 23. Try some of the high volume dealers. There's one in Victor, NY. Undercuts all other Subaru dealers in town by at least 500 bucks. I wouldn't get the WRX, though. Don't like the open differential in the front. Reminds me too much of my present car.

You ought to be shot if you pay $32K for a WRX. What options are you talking about? Underbody spoiler kit? Since when do you mention options to the total price of a car? I assumed when people talked about prices of cars...it was just the car itself, no options. Let's keep it realistic people.

I'm talking about the "out the door" price as well. Hooby's price estimate is just way too high. Unless people are acutally paying that much. But as far as I know above said price is what majority of the people are paying for their WRX.

I don't know about you guys but, that Cooper S would be a real blast. It's coming down to the Evo or Cooper for me.

If performance is your thing, there is no comparison between the Cooper S and an Evo 7. Now, if it's "coolness" you're talking about, the Cooper S is pretty damn cool. Tell you what, you can look cool in your Cooper S while I'm passing you in my Evo 7 :D

Seriously take a look at the MSRp on the official Scooby website. Add a couple options on and yer look at a butt-load more than 23k.

Granted, some dealers are obviously willing to haggle on price, but if you add on a couple of the handling options yer lookin over $25k no matter how good you are at haggling.
