ok guy's i want to buy something for my evo this is what i got to spend $1200
i was think'n AMS turbo back exhust or what do you guys think i should spend the money!! {thumbup}

kdwg927 Jul 19, 2006 04:43 PM

AMS turboback would be a great start

the warrtalon/buschur package is also an option

UCB Jul 19, 2006 04:45 PM

a RnR turbo back (500), filter, MBC, fuel pump, and a tune

Warrtalon Jul 19, 2006 05:05 PM

I recommend avoiding RNR, but a TBE/MBC/gauge/fuel pump/flash is a great way to go.

I would not spend the whole $1200 on just an exhaust. Spend a few hundred more to get my full VIII package, or get some of the parts, then get the rest in the near future to complete stage 1.

Go For the Wartalon Package ... and break the 300whp barrier ..

keevo54 Jul 19, 2006 05:27 PM

Competing vendor, nothing more

Im a firm believer in a bare bones TBE. No need for fancy mufflers or blue tips. the RNR is a complete 3" TBE for cheap. If not the RNR, get the megan. The RNR you cna also add a resonator, different muffler, etc

Either way..TBE, drop in filter, MBC, fuel pump, and a tune. Thats all the BR stage 1 is.

Gruppe-s sells a very similar package with a helix TBE and their flash

Warrtalon Jul 19, 2006 05:34 PM

Just read around to see why RNR products are not recommended, nor is dealing with them. Nothing wrong with a bare bones TBE if that's what someone wants. I've had one on my MR for over a year (Megan) and it worked great. I'm not a vendor, so my comment has nothing to do with being a "competing vendor." You won't see me tell people not to go to Vishnu, AMS, TurboTrix, etc., because they are great Evo vendors unlike RNR, in my opinion.

The guys above who said to avoid my package are just doing it out of spite - there is nothing to avoid in my package. It's a perfect combo of mods whether you get those brand names or not.

That was actually really well said.

well you live in florida... I suggest speaking with Scott@ttpengineering and getting a Megan Exhaust and a custom tune from him.

TTP is very fast and friendly

Warrtalon, I havn't read any bad reviews on RNR. Yes, you may not techincally be a vendor, but its obvious you have your preferences and are not 100% objective on the matter

Warrtalon Jul 19, 2006 05:50 PM

I am quite objective. I just said I have a MEgan, and I also listed other great vendors. If you haven't read bad reviews on RNR, then you haven't been here long. Considering you have a IX and are a newbie, that would make sense. They have more bad feedback threads than any vendor I've ever seen...

Megan and tune from TTP would be a far better way to spend $1200 than just an AMS TBE, imo, but hopefully that will be a TechTom flash instead of EcuTek so he has money left for mbc, fuel pump, and bov.
