Moving to Cali and Cali's emmission laws.

Hey guys, I'm moving to Cali from NY. Was wondering what I'd have to do to pass Cali's emmisions and if there's a kit, info or anything that I might need to know.

Would it be better selling my car and buying another?

Please advise...

Thanks!

If you stay the way you currently are modded and don't drive like an ass, you'll be cool out here in California.

You can probably pass with your high flow... If not, throw your stock cat back on. But you should be glad you dont have to worry about getting a ticket for no cat.

If you're tuned for 93 octane, you best be getting it reflashed for the 91 octane crap we have out here. Luckily you have a drop in filter. If you had an intake, without a C.A.R.B exemption sticker, most smog shops wouldn't touch your car once they saw it. That happened with our VW, even though I was pretty positive the intake would've had no effect on our emissions. It's not hard to have a modified car out here, you just have to be a little more careful.

You don't even have to dyno test for smog on awd vehicles. It's just a free rev sniffer test, so it's not hard to pass.

damn! must be sucks to live there!!!! 91 piss water + strict enforcement on modded cars!

it does, but CA is 1 of the most fun states. We got Los angeles(where i grew up for 18yrs). Hectic, can-be dangerous, but worth it all, oh and VERY expensive living costs.

Yea Cali is the **** No... Cops are so used to modded cars here, just drive like a normal person, and you'll be alright. Get used to our watery ass TJ gas, and its not so bad. Definately rock those NY plates as long as possible

Please don't come here. We have entirely too many people already. How about Arizona? I've heard it's nice there. ****, if I could get out of this godforsaken state I'd do it in a second.

everyone in cali seems to want to move out, but can't or won't. everything i want is just a block away. the dealerships to the major company warehouses to tunign shops. all about 20 minutes away or so. i guess that's why it's so expensive. everything seems to be just around the corner.

well your BOV will have to be recirculated back into the intake. also you will need a carb number for both. and keep all paperwork with you. if you get caught launching revving or anything like that you will have your car impounded for "intent to race" that is in SD so i dont knwo about anywhere else....oh yeah if you get caught racing, they take your car and either smash it or use it in undercover sting ops. basically dont get caught.
