Autoweek's Vishnu article is now online
I didn't see a post here yet, so here goes:
http://www.autoweek.com/cat_content...._code=04305257 my question to Shiv: is the 310 hp claim on 91 or 93 octane gas? |
In the future, when I have learned the Evo 100% - Vishnu is probably going to be the way I'll go. I've always been a fan and their WRX numbers pretty much say it all

310 hp with a catback exhaust and computer tuning. Not bad! :)

I heard Vishnu is making a Stage 1 with a turbo back exhaust.

That said, I suspect 310 flywheel hp is reasonably accurate for 91 octane. 93-94 octane should be good for another 10-15 hp but I won't know for sure until next weekend's East Coast dyno tuning trip. In-house testing from gas mixing does seem to suggest this being the case. We'll see soon enough. As for Stage One, it is undetermined whether it will simply be a Stage Zero plus downpipe (and a remapped XEDE program, of course). It may include another hard part if testing continues to go smoothly. It's a bit too early to make any promises at this point. We're not in the business of slapping on parts as soon as possible and sending them out the door :) Cheers, shiv |
Hi shiv. :) I know you can't give any details about the horsepower problems that you discovered in a few Evos (if there is indeed a problem), but do you know how much longer until the issue is resolved? Since it is in Mitsu's hands right now, when will the consumer actually hear something from Mitsu? Has Mitsu given you any idea? Thanks.
Sorry for going a bit off-topic ;) |
