Shorted Defi's while installing radio

So I made a mistake. I was rushing. Happens to us all.
I was installing my new head unit w/o 1st disconnecting the negative terminal. Major sin.

When I moved the Defi control unit box out of the way one of the wires (orange thats spliced into the lighter I think) came out of the DC source plug and hit the braided line that goes into the EGT port. I got a glow and some smoke.

The gauges were disconnected at the time but obviously the lead had voltage running through it. I finished my install but the control unit and the guages get no power. Radio and other stuff works fine. These are the following steps in order I think I must take:

1.) Check to see if the control unit itself has a fuse thats blown. Cant tell from the manual if it has its own fuse. http://www.defi-shop.com/product/ima...nual06064e.pdf

2.) Check the fuses in the car. Which one though. The radio is working fine. Everything else is working fine.
The defi wire that made the spark was the orange one in the DC source socket.............thats tied to the lighter? right? (the install guide I used way back when to tap the wires is down: ( https://www.evolutionm.net/features/...rojectevo/24/3 ) Does the lighter have its one fuse?

3.) Swap another control unit in and see if the gauges work.

4.) Swap my control unit into some1 else gauge(s).

Thanks in advance for any help.

I think you just blew a fuse. I would first check the cig lighter fuse as that would be the easiest fix if that is the problem. Trust me, Defi knows that people make mistakes and arent going to design something that vulnerable. I wouldnt worry about needing a new CUII just yet. I of course could be wrong though....

Replaced cig lighter wire and fuse and everything is working again. Thanks

Probably just a fuse it would suck to blow the defis out.
