The sound of 264's???????
 

Ok well I got some hks 264 today and will have them in and my p2 reflashed this weekend and hopefully will be at infineon this monday for the bracket drags. Anyways I searched and didnt see much about the sound of them other then they have a "good" idle. I would like to be able to hide them from my friend who has a supra tt. The last time he heard my car it had a cat and smaller downpipe so I would like to "claim" the added noises on my TP and DP. Can I pull it off or will he be able to tell right away?

Sure if your friend isn't very knowledgable about cars, but somehow i am hoping that someone that owns a Supra never-the-less Supra TT knows a lumpier/louder idle.:crap:

yes you will be able to pull it off...even at WOT. a test pipe in itself is a huge difference in sound, and your adding a Downpipe...now if you went from TB exhaust with a TP to adding cams...i would say he will notice

or just blame it on an idle problem/bad gas haha

the cams will hardley make a difference at all to no difference in sound

264s will not make a huge difference in sound and idle if tune properly.

The 264,s will idle just like stock provided you get tuned after installation, which you should do anyway.(get tuned for them). Make sure you have a fuel pump also. (walbro or eqivelent). I had 264 cams in my 03,after Al tuned the car you,d never know i had cams from the sound. (idle)

i heard theres not really a lop with 264's because they are not really that much bigger than stock
i have 272's and they do not sound stock at all. they have a preatty loud and mean loop to them

I also have 272's but I have yet to slap em in... not to thread jack.. how long can you run without a flash after putting in new cam gears & shafts?

I dont think you'll have a prob, they dont make much off a diff at idle or WOT

how long can you drive without wearing a seatbelt before you get into an accident?

Well works will be tuning it so Im assuming that it will be done properly. I wasnt going to do a pump for another month and was hoping that the stocker would do ok till then. I wont be holding wot very long but do plan to take it to the bracket drags and run about 4-5 passes. I am going to be getting a licp, and possibly a fmic and thats when I was going to do the pump.

Anyone have experience with the Jun 264s?

you dont need cam gears to run longer duratin cams. As far as running bigger cams in an untuned car i would stay out of boost, if you do drive it at all. Get it tuned right away.

Trying to go down to Torque Freaks on the 2nd or 3rd of March for a flash. Thats why I asked.. I'll prolly get them put in a few days after I get back from Japan.
