Car won't turn off!

Well the car has electrical problems once again. I posted a thread about a month ago about my windshield wipers with a mind of their own. Which I got fixed for $300 at a local shop.

Well let me describe the new problem. A few months ago I turned my car off, took out the key and then all the dash lights starting blinking including imobolizer light, and the rpm needle staring reving (not the engine, just the needle) then the car dies. This happened only twice then it stopped and seemed like the problem went away.

Well now it got a lot worse. For the past week I turn the car off, take the key out and it keeps running. The only way I could turn it off was to unplug the battery. Now unpluging the battery doesn't even work, the car still keeps running. So now I have to unplug fuse #15 to kill the engine. And to turn the car on you can't just plug the battery back in and turn it on, because it won't turn over then.

The trick is: #1 put key in ignition and turn to start.
#2 plug in battery
#3 now turn the key and the car starts.

Another weird thing is sometimes I can get the car to turn off normaly by taking the key out, but if you come back to the car in 10-15min all the dashlights are on.

Also a few times when I took the key out and it keeps running, I push the clutch in put it in reverse and the car turns off. But I can't get it to do that anymore, it only worked a few times.

So anyway I took the car to a local shop here were I go all the time. They had the car for 3 days and I just got it back today, and they could not figure out what was causing the problem. He told me my best bet would be to take it to Mitsu and have them diagnose the problem, then I can take it back to him.

If anyone has any experience with this, or advice please post. Thanks!

I DON'T HAVE A TURBO TIMER OR REMOTE START

I know it's crazy. I want to know if this happened to anyone else. The local shop I took my car to called 5 different Mitsu dealers and they had no idea. The guy at the shop said they acted like they didn't even build the car

:shoot: :mitsu:

Sounds like a new Christine! ( the '07 remake) LOL. Good Luck with that.

Turn off your turbo timer silly. J/k that is really messed up. Electrical problems are the worst issue to deal with. I hate to say it but I would probably end up at mitsu. Good luck

I guarantee if you have them disconnect the immobilizer it'll solve all your problems. I know at least 3 people who have had similarly crazy problems with immobilizers. One spent north of $2500 on random electrical gremlins until he hit a mechanic that told him to take it off, did it, and he's been absolutely problem free since.

I see. I just called the shop and they said when they checked the immobilizer it was working properly. But I wonder what would happen if they disconnected it. I'll have them try that.

Because if I don't follow that "trick" in my first post to turn on the car, and I just turn it on normaly then the immobilizer lights flashes.
