Help car won't start after installing fuel pump and injectors
Ok I just installed my turbo kit this weekend and it ran fine but after I did my fuel pump and Injectors it wouldn't start. The obvious things are
1. Fuel. I have plenty 2. fuse. none blown 3. No wires that I can see are disconnected I also reinstalled the old fuel pump and still same thing, it won't start. The only thing i can think of is that it may be vapor locked since I undid the injectors and fuel pump. Any positive help would be nice. Thanks |
more details... does it crank...? any other important info like that?
yes it cranks, battery is fine. It sounds like it is gasping for air but all the lines are attached and all the connections to IC pips and intake are tight.
What did you install to control the injectors?
nothing, just the stock computer
Do you hear the fuel pump running when your cranking it?
Maybe you fouled out your plugs. |
yes I felt the pump running, just a question but how would i have fouled my plugs.
did you install larger injectors??????
spark plugs are fine they actually are pretty clean, i just checked them
yes I installed 780's. I am pretty sure I don't need an aftermarket computer to run the injectors.
lmao... Dude, you need some sort of EM to get the car to run.. duh.
I am guessing you don't have a fuel pressure gauge so it
Sounds like what happend when I I started up my fresh motor on my srt-4. After a few tries.. I decided to disconnect the fuel line and i found it to be dry. long story short , ended up being that i had no fuel pressure as the pump hadn't sucked in any fuel and by priming it still didn't deliver fuel. THe way I fixed it was by jumping the relay and making the pump run in a loop until fuel finally ran through the pump. I don't remember if you can do the same on the evo.. |

I would install the old injectors and double check your work... I am going to suggest that the issue is in the fuel pump install though... Did you transfer the plastic collar from the old pump to the new pump? Did you make sure the rubber boot that goes on the end of the pump outlet was not messed up and seated correctly? |
