simply can't keep the IC hose on...

its to the point of being ridiculous. I can't even to a single pull through 2nd and 3rd gear without the hose blowing off at the TB...

The car is bone stock, so it isn't even high boost doing it. I can crank the hell out of the hose clamp, and the work the hose off with my hands.in about 10 seconds. I wonder if the little lip on the outer edge of the throttle body is too smooth or something.

I need to find a place that sells t-bolt clamps, so I can put one on there. It'd be funny if it starts blowing off somewhere else then....

this evening I put 2 hose clamps on, one over the other, and it still come off after a short pull.

I could take it to mitsu, but I'm just not in the mood to sit around and wait 3 hours while they tighten my hoseclamp and send me on my way...

I wonder if there could be any thing else contributing to it coming off so easily? I've tried using hairspray and everything....

NAPA usually has T Bolt Clamps. There is a source here in the How-To section as well.

ok tbolts are your best bet but if you want to go one step further...wiggins clamps which involve welding but will withhold 125 psi...

i had the same problem it was driving me crazy........this is what i did....i bought a t-clamp but before i did that...i took of the hose off and cleaned the area real good then i sanded the area a little bit until it was rough.............so it is not slippery and it never cam off agian...i would also do a leak down test to you may have to much crankcase pressure maybe a bad piston ring...

get tbolt clamps and make sure your clamping right near the ridge of the throttle body is.

If not try tighten the hose clamp with a 8mm socket. not a screwdriver.

what does that mean??

SASD209 Jul 6, 2007 06:37 PM

What?

Boltz. Jul 6, 2007 06:45 PM

Watch out for t boltz on the TB, they can crack the TB if youre not careful. What you need to do is clean the inside of the pipe and the outside of the TB with an adhesive remover and Lightly scuff the tb with a metal brush. Spray hairspray on the top of the TB (dont get any inside) and spread it arond with your finger. Spray hairspray on your finger and rub the inside of the pipe with it. Put it on while its wet and tighten the stock clamp. It wont fall off ever again. You dont need t bolts

bluebyu36 Jul 6, 2007 06:46 PM

ya that's good to but i never had a problem with t-bolts on the t.b.

Oh, yeah. He posted the same question twice in Evo General; both of which received replies. Rather than simply trash one of them, I merged them into one thread, deleting his second question which was a duplicate of the first. K?

:D
