BR EVO's and Showdown featured in Turbo Magazine..
Hi all,
If you haven't seen it yet this month's Turbo Magazine (November 2007) has a really nice feature on my brother Daniel's EVO and mine. It's a cool feature as they put us both in the same story. I have to thank Evan Griffey for giving me some credit for being around a long time, he's been around long enough to know who was here for a long time, nice seeing it in print I guess. Also have to say thanks to Robert, Aaron and Henry for putting it all together. Very good story though. I went off on our own site about something that is getting under my skin lately. I'll be a little "easier" on here. When you pick up the magazine, read it. Read the story on us last. When you do this you will note that there is an over abundance of cars making claims to super high HP. My problem with this is a lack of track times to back them or no track times at all. Same thing is happening on the internet. I won't go into specific HP levels but I am growing tired of huge power claims and then a big lack of backing the numbers up. Maybe it's because our dyno reads real numbers, maybe if I had some other type of dyno that spit out what is basically flywheel numbers it wouldn't bug me. You have consider the fact that our black car only made 815 whp on our dyno and currently has the MPH record running a 169.59 mph with that HP.......... Then you read the story on my car and my brothers, we both drove are cars there about 40 miles, in traffic, stop and go at times, then had to search for a spot to actually do the photo shoot. We then drove them both home. No problems of course. Both cars make about 650 whp, have both run 9's. Daniel's car ran 146 mph and mine ran 148 mph. Both on radials and had we stopped either to or from the photoshoot we could have back those times up with no changes to either car. Anyway.............pick up the magazine. The feature is cool. There's also a story about the Mitsu VS Subi Showdown with a great shot of AMS's drag car across two pages. |
I guess I'll have to stop by Border's tomorrow during lunch.
By the way, I like the "only made 815 whp" comment. :) |
Definitely going to try and pick it up tomorrow, thanks for letting us know it was in there! :)

Fiddle with the dyno calibrations enough and you could give a Yugo 600 horsepower. The real question is, do you want to attract and sell to people who will believe that their Yugo is making 600 horsepower? IMHO, if the answer to that question is 'Yea,' you guys wouldn't have nearly the same level of respect in the Evo (or any car, for that matter) community that you do now. |
Hey, db, if I send you a copy of the magazine, would you sign the cover for me?
|
Congrats Dave. Cant wait to pick it up when I get back from Turkey
|
congrats David and the Buschur crew on the magazine. Both your daily drivers are amazing, just shows the potential of a well put together setup. Only the necessary is used, and the track times to prove it. I wouldn't worry about all the dyno numbers out there, you guys let the results do the proving while the rest can do the talking.

Grats on the article. I can't wait to pick this up.

Can't wait to see the magazine{thumbup}.

Thanks guys. Glad some of you see it my way on the numbers and such.
Yes, of course I'd sign a magazine for you if you sent it. Do you want Daniel to sign it too? Just enclose a note what you want us to do and mail it to us. Thanks, |
