AEM Wideband Location?

I just installed my AEM wideband and was wondering if the location of the sensor makes a difference in the reading that it will give? The reason I ask is because i am tuned since september and my car runs great but when get on it now i get a reading of 10.3-10.5 and and it should be around 11.0 and at idle i am at 15.0 and it should be around 14.0. I put the sensor right before the high flow cat coming from the downpipe.
Thanks

is your sensor in the 12 o clock position?
i dont know how much it can or will throw it off but i do belive i read somewhere that the widebands have to be at 12 o clock on the piping.....

The sensor should be between 10 and 12 o'clock so the condensation/water doesn't collect on it. The sensor might be fouled, which would lead to the readings being off.

It should fluctuate between 14.5 and 15.3 at idle and cruise. 14.7 is stoich. And that is your ECU's goal. It may be dropping into the 10s due to accel enrichment. Its like an accelerator pump on a carb. When you mash the gas, it dumps extra fuel. But your afr should climb back up to where it was tuned. Also keep in mind that atmospheric changes (weather) has an impact on afr. It may not be "tuned" to the same specs now as you were before.

Alright thanks well i have it at the 3 o-clock position so i guess i need to change it. Thanks for the help.

if you read the directions that come with your wideband, it tells you to place the sensor at i believe a 10 degree angle....

but when the car is idling, its not gonna read exactly 14.7 the whole time, it flucuates as stated before me

3 o'clock should be fine. Your sensor is either dead or you have an exhaust leak.

About 7000 miles and i will check for a leak. Also where can i get just a new sensor at?
