can't decide! need help!
so i can't decide between modding my Evo9 MR or getting a RX-7 and doing a LS3 swap to it. which would u pick to do and y?
|
your on the evo forums, what do you expect us to say? lol
|
^^^^evo lol but whatev just wondering
|
this is all relative to your intentions with that car
what you are asking is like waking up and saying should I wear my track shoes or military boots kinda need to know where you are going |
get the rx-7. then, after the 30grand spent on the swap(possibly more), you'll be able to drive with no traction all the time! or, for 5k, you can make the evo really fast. your choice though.
|
Yeah we're all biased towards the Evo, but it's for a good reason. The performance to value is unreal. Don't get me wrong; I'm a huge fan of RX-7s and have a friend at one point owned three at the same time. I just don't think it is very practical. The swap is expensive, you have very limited traction with a big N/A motor and RWD, you'll chug gas, and really most of us agree it is more fun to go WOT into a sharp corner rather than try to stay on the road in a straight line when you floor it.
I wonder what the RX-7 guys would say? |
RX-7's gonna cost you a lot more $ than modding your Evo.

I have a buddy with a rx7 w/ a ls1 swap and he hates driving it on the street. I think if your wanting a drag car get a 03 RS and go to town on it if you want that. |
at SCCA nationals, the rx7's in SM2 turned similar times to SM mark daddio's evo so both are pretty awesome chassis'. I'd think the rwd rx7 would be harder to drive at the limit than awd for street and track. Using the LS3 would increase the cost substantially over using a modded LS1 motor, but its being done here:
