HELP, car won't start

I just had my vehicle shipped to Germany and the damn thing won't start now. I think they may have done something stupid and they aren't telling me. They were trying to jump it before I got their.

Everythings works, engine cranks and the walbro is running. I believe it has to be spark related? Where would you look? The plugs have 9K on them and they are OEM. ANY IDEAS

mini_evo Feb 15, 2008 02:51 AM

take the center cover off the valve cover, pull the wires off the spark plugs and check for corrosion! if all checks out, follow the wires to the coilpack and make sure there isn't corrosion there either. the salt water will play HELL with any car!
:crap:
Something else to think about: just cuz the walbro is pumping...... doesnt mean the fuel is getting to the engine!!! look under the car and make sure your fuel supply lines arent CRUSHED!!! you know as well as i do those companies dont give a sh!t about our cars! specially if you sent it through the Army.:usflag:

best a luck to ya!
:confused:

If the immobilizier got screwed up would my car still crank over? I really think my battery died and something happened to the ECU. The car appears fine and only has 10K miles on it.

I have a tactrix cable and ecuflash/evoscan, How do I find out what is wrong?

did you plastic wrap it before you shipped it?

It was in a container!

Evo11V Feb 15, 2008 06:24 AM

yes but you should have plastic wrapped it before putting it in the container. My father ships a lot of machines over seas and it is a must to wrap it in plastic before putting it in a container to prevent corrosion.

soldi3rappl3 Feb 15, 2008 11:19 AM

try pushing in the clutch and turning the key {thumbup}

05graphiteMR Feb 15, 2008 11:27 AM

pull a plug out and smell it. you will be able to tell really quick if its getting fuel.
or pull the center cover off and put a timing light on one of the short wires (not for timing purposes before anyone says something stupid), with the timing light on it should tell you if spark is going through the wire

other than that, unhook the battery. might reset the ecu

good luck

I think you are exactly right. I just got my car back for the same problem and the only thing they could find was corrosion. They needed to clean the pins and now problem. {thumbup}

just because you had fuel in it when you shipped it doesn't mean it had fuel when it was unloaded. {devil}
