Anybody know how many blue Evo's been made?
Same for the Rally Red, Tarmac Black, Weightless White, Apex Silver, and Lightning Yellow Evo's. Did they make fewer blue Evo's than the other colors? Just out of curiosity.

People can't even agree on how many Evo's as a whole have been manufactured so far this year.....SO I don't see how could anyone know how many of each color there are.
Most companies usually divide their color combos pretty evenly. So until shown true fact that shows otherwise, I'll bet that Mitsubishi made appx 1/6th of their Evo's in the BBY color. SC~ |
Great answer Mr Chimp.... 1/6th... I love it!!!

SC~ I'd be willing to bet that there are close to twice as many silver Evo's as the next color... |
So the rarer the color, the higher the resale value will be?
I'm willing to say that a Evo w/o a sunroof will be more sought-after than one with a sunroof |
It's mostly personal opinion and experience with cars but my guess is that silver with sunroof will hold it's value the most.

I'm hoping my blue Evo w/o sunroof will hold its value, just like a E36 M3 w/o sunroof would :D

My .02
My guess that there are more Red, Black and Silver Evos and less Yellow, Blue and White. My dad has a 1988 Fiero GT that he ordered new. He was told that they made white, red and black continuously and they alternated a fourth color between burgundy, silver and yellow. He wanted yellow but he was told that the current yellow batch is spoken for and new yellows won't come for a few months.
I realize that this is 15 years old, but I'd bet that :mitsu: uses a similar schedule. Didn't blue come out later in production? I remember dealers telling me that blue would come with second and third shipments. |
They are SUPPOSED to give us the opportunity to order what we want, instead of forcing us to choose from a particular allotment that the factory chooses. If I had wanted a solid supply of blue and yellow only I could have, the plant would have sprayed those particular cars for me and it wouldn't have affected another dealer's choices. However, once things get toward the end of the model year, certain restrictions do appear. For instance, my last few '03 Outlanders HAD to be silver, no matter what.
That being said, perhaps it is an illusion and only so many blue cars (or other were built) but there does seem to be a shortage. The Evo we just sold today was blue and we had to go a ways to get it. I didn't think blue would be that hot a color and my first few orders reflected it (heavy on silver). But I made adjustments later on. I've only got one more coming, and that's it. |
My local dealer (Stohlman) didn't get any blue w/ sunroof for 4 months. Then I got my deposit back. After that, I called almost all the dealers in VA (not more than 200miles from my location) They all except one told me they've blue in stock. Very same day, I immediately drove 90 miles to get it
Thanks Memo |
I dont know abotu anyone else, but i have seen far fewer blue EVO's than the other colors.

It would be nice to see how many they had made to date!!!!!!!!!
All colors that is |
I'd love to buy a blue one w/o sunroof, but with the tall wing
or even a yellow one.. It'll be a tough call for me. |
If I ever want to sell mine, I'll let you know
|
Exact opposite around here. I have a BBY Evo, and I personally know two other people within a 20 mile radius that have them as well. I also know two more on top of our three were sold from local dealers... on the contrary, there only seems to be one Red around here, one or two black and silver as well.
