HID's for my High-Beams

I am seriously considering changing the stock highbeam bulbs out for some 6000K HID's.

I want to be able to use them as sorta "rally lights".

Right now I have 6000K HID Lowbeam projectors, and 6000K HID Foglights.

The problem is that if I turn on my highbeams, the foglights go off.

Anyone that knows HID knows that it is not a good thing to flash them on and off, typically I only turn them on once, and leave them on.

I would love to be able to set up the highbeams so I can run lows/highs/fogs all at the same time - say if I am on a empty road with no lights anywhere near.

Problem is like I said, I want to run them completely independent of the current lighting setup.

Can I disconnect the highbeam switch wiring on the little steering lever and run it to a relay that turns the ballasts on? (this way my car would never know the highbeams are on and it would never turn off the foglights when I click them on)

Also, where are you guys mounting your ballasts. I already have 4 of them in there.

You can wire your fogs to stay on with the high beams pretty easily. Would that solve your problem?

I saw a writeup but I have yet to find a method that I would call "pretty easy" lol - can you link me if you found something better?

Also I was looking to see some good ballast mounting ideas.

It is floating around on socalevo.net somewhere. It just involves plugging a wire between two fuses in the engine bay.

I have seen this before. What I was thinking is a bit different.

I also am not good enough to be able to build that circuit.

The highbeams switch on and off by moving the lever forward and back. What about just cutting these wires and running them to the relay to turn the highs on.

It seems simple but I don't know the stock wiring as well as many of you do.

Also my car is a 2006 MR, not 2005 MR as those instructions are..

I know this isn't what you are looking for, but it is possible to keep the low beams/high beams/ fog lights on at the same time just by pulling back and holding the high beam switch. Hold it back just far enough to where it doesn't click, but just enough to where the high beams come on. I do this on empty roads.

go to auto zone and if all you have to do is tie the two fuses together just go get a fuse tap. this way you just plug one into each fuse then just soldier the wires together and bam done.
