Mike Reichen's EVO 2 in September's Hot Rod Magazine
In the September issue of Hot Rod Magazine on page 80 there's a decent amount of coverage on Mike Reichen's win at The Maxton Mile with his 210 mph pass. I love this quote on page 83 "This is an absolutely evil Mitsubishi EVO that won the class with a speed of 210.290 MPH! What'll make you even madder is the engine uses the stock block, crank and head." :D :mitsu: {thumbup}

That is nuts, must have been a little nerve racking getting up to that speed.
|
I heart that car.
|
!!! God damn
Congrats on that monster build |
That was a hell of a week getting the car to that race! Mike looks like a dork and I'm an ugly bastard in that picture. I'll go pick up the issue on lunch.

Great work Mike looks like the trip to the wind tunnel will pay off sooner or later.
|
Funny thing is, this car has much more that can be done to it. Keep in mind guys this was done on just a regular's guy's budget. Not some speed shop like some of those he went against.
|
Ron, Great talking with you this morning. I pulled the aero bits down from the attic and have them ready to ship. I wish you guys the best the next time out at Maxton. I hope this stuff helps. Indy

Hahha Mike you really love that jacket huh :P.

After Mike looked over the datalogs he realized he was off the gas for about 3 seconds which is a lifetime at those speeds dealing with aero drag. He got hit with 2 huge cross winds which thru the little EVO around like a toy at over 180 mph! Needless to say he had to get out of it both times. Who knows what the MPH would of been with a clean pass.
