Can I get virtual gauges for my in-dash screen?

I have been searching the forums and all over the web for a solution to this project I want to do, and I can't find anything...

I want to have all my gauges (EGT, Boost, Oil Pressure, Etc.) Be "virtual" and displayed through my in-dash dvd screen I have in my car. I have a ton of inputs available so it would be something that could be displayed only if you had it on the correct input. Has anyone seen anything like this?

The closest I have gotten to anything like what I am looking for is from Pioneer and it's the AVG-VDP1. Only problem is it gives RPM, MPH, and lame readings like that... only cool thing is it gives estimated HP and estimated Torque, but that would get old pretty quick as I'm sure they are far from accurate... Check it out though to get a better idea of what I am trying to accomplish if you're still confused.

Would be cool, if you found something like that.
I was looking for the same thing.
Pretty sure there isn't anything like that out there.

I have the Pioneer vdp-1 and it's pretty cool for what it is..
The HP/TQ can be adjusted with the weight/drag settings to be alot more accurate, even better after it learns your car.
It has a learning curve program that takes about 60 days to LEARN your car's performance..
I like it for the lat G's, Acc. G's etc, that it does, and can record all that stuff plus GPS also.

For what it is, it's OK for now, til we find what youre talking about.
keep looking and post ..

Maybe check out the GTr forums. I think they have some of that stuff.

you didnt look hard enough this is all you need. AMS sells them and im sure it can be used with stock ecu. Call AMS for info on it since they use it the most. Its going to be around 950-1300 for everything but its well worth it.

here is a demo and there are a few more on youtube as well. My budy has one on his Louts and it works great.

^ that's a separate piece of equipment.
OP is talking about displaying VIRTUAL gauges on his monitor that he already has in his car.

ZEITRONIX would be the only solution.
you would need to run some sort of a PC with a ZT brain hooked to video in on your monitor (or VGA).
u will get this:

or get zeitronix with this display:

many options out there for you
they all require a carputer or some other sort of PC to run programs on.

this is EvoScan:

woah! evo scan is bad ass, whats some more info on it?! but i do believe hks makes something like this, forgot about it but i did see someone running multiple USEFUL gauges on their monitor

Dave99gst Sep 5, 2008 05:25 AM

i was going to suggest a carputer with evo scan

redboosted05 Sep 5, 2008 05:32 AM

i could have sworn someone made a box to display on your screen I believe they posted the product here at one point!

jmartinez1170 Sep 5, 2008 07:42 AM

If you didnt know the AIM dash reads real time data from your ecu not though some bull crap volt reading. AIM is worth the money and will clean up the look of your car by not having to have any other gauge in your car as it reads anything you want it to.

Didn't HKS make a system that you hook hook up to a display and it has all the gauges? I believe it has been discussed a few times here, if you search

http://www.nengun.com/hks/camp-2

I think that is the current version, but I do not know if it works with CAN or whatever the X uses

those are sick

that zeitronix system is exactly what I was looking for...

now if there was a way to make it so instead of buying their separate display and sticking it to your windshield, you could run it through your in-dash screen...
