My Evo's been stripped...

I was informed by the leasing office of my apartment in Northern Virginia and the police that my car has been stripped, wheels, interior, everything.

I'm not sure if it would be wise (legally and otherwise) to post how it happened and what parts were stolen....

I will say that my rims were Volks CE28N Titanium Gunmetal 18x9" and that they're gone. They're mounted to a set of 245/40/18 Potenza RE01R.

But any advice I can get will be greatly appreciated. I don't even know what else to say right now...

P.S. No, I haven't seen the shape of the car yet, so no photos.

Ok? Call your insurance company.

WOW, that blows. You may wanna mention what parts are missing in case they try to sell em. Highly unlikely though. Sorry bro.

yea call ur insurance comp

LagginTimes May 15, 2009 11:22 AM

I've already contacted insurance, they're sending a person to appraise the car and whatnot early next week. Again, I haven't seen the car yet, but I know that they've taken:

-trunk
-hood
-all interior parts
-Volk CE28N Ti. Gunmetal 18x9" (with the 'special edition' center cap with the red rim)

I was told that what's left is the shell of the exterior, parts of the engine, and the exhaust.

Goldfinger978 May 15, 2009 11:22 AM

yea man, call the insurance company up and get it handled. Maybe keep an eye open classifieds. Might get lucky if they're morons!

Time for an insurance financed upgrade!

They must have had some time to do that. How does NO ONE notice a car being stripped in an open lot to an apartment complex?

LagginTimes May 15, 2009 11:28 AM

Our parking is underground beneath the apartment, with a wooden ply bar that responds to a keycard they give you when you move in. That's the only security offered. In fact, this 'security' of it being underground is probably exactly what allowed the thieves to pull this off. All they'd have to do is walk in at 3AM with a team of 2-3 people, and ransack any car they want. Just now I've learned that this has been a *common occurence* at this apartment complex for YEARS, but the leasing office people could give less of a crap.

Damn why would evo owner jack others, i mean you already afford a 20k+ car. holy ****

Draven83 May 15, 2009 11:41 AM

call insurance, pull up any and all pics you have proving its your car, receipts. any proof you have for what you had in it. if you dont have them then they prolly will only cover for stock parts (thats why i keep a binder with reciepts and pics of my car at all times). im sorry it happened man. good luck. how havent you seen it yet?

watch craigslist! I hope those SOB's get caught and get handed tha a$$whuppin they deserve. I have lived in Northern Virginia for years and things get stolen from cars all the time. Especially around the Arlington/Mclean/Tysons areas because people that live there have money and everyone knows it. Don't count on Fairfax County police to do much for you since they seem to hate the "type" of people who drive Evos anyways. I moved out of Fairfax County purely because I got tired of constant harassment and pull-overs for exhaust, tint, and everything else they could think of. Good Luck!

Damn, So close to home too. I feel for you

LagginTimes May 15, 2009 02:28 PM

I just got back to my apartment from work. A notice regarding the incident last night was posted on everybody's doors. Apparently, multiple vehicles were broken into, GPS's were stolen, and one car was completely stolen outright. What's funny is.... the same thing happened to this same garage a few weeks ago. Apparently my car was untargeted that time.... but this time I was out of luck, I guess. I'm going to see the car either tonight or tomorrow, and I suppose I'll post photos of what's left of my baby. At least I still have 70% of my car.... I suppose. How much does it cost to install a few cameras around the garages here? Too much apparently.... even though my roommate and I shell out a grand per person per month to live in this craphole apartment.

Sluggo May 15, 2009 06:58 PM

Damn that really sucks. Did you have wheel locks on the car or just normal lug nuts? I'm just running normal lugs on my SSR's and I'm in the process of getting some locking lugs. Also, will insurance cover any of your mods, namely the volks and tires, or are they going to just give you $ for stock replacements?
