Car won't start..

I don't really know what it can be at this point..

Over the last few days I've been trying to mess with my car, to see why it won't start..

The cars not turning over..

I got a new battery with a charge on it, so its not the batt.

It's not an alternator problem, since the battery has charge and crank power.. and I can't jump it.

I thought it was the starter, but I replaced it with a friends (Nils) and it still won't start..

I checked the fuses and they all look fine..

The car itself doesn't crank at all when I turn the key.. just silence.. and my fan kicking on..

What the heck could the problem be? :*(

put a ratchent on the crank pulley turn it over by hand see if it can do that (testing if the motor is seized) also try a push start and get back to me

I'd try a push start but I'm also having an issue with my clutch.. it seems that it's semi engaged even if I'm not on the pedal, as it doesn't roll back when on a hill if I'm in gear with the clutch pushed in.. so pushing it to a start would take a small army to push the car..

Also, if engine was seized, wouldn't it at least try to crank up but not turn? It's not cranking at all..

not necesarily. it could not crank at all if it was seized. the starter would attempt to spin the flywheel but cannot overcome the motors resistance to move (seizure).

but i am gonna have to guess that ur motor is not blown. are you gettin power at your starter? have you bench tested the starter? does the vehicle make any noises when attempting to crank? like relays clicking...?

Take a look at the top of your clutch pedal lever. There is a push style switch that the lever pushes against in order to start the car. You may have bent the bracket holding the switch.

Have you checked your ecu?

+1 now that i read this persons post. im used to working on automatics at work and didn't think of this

I haven't tested the starter (tried but autozone said they couldn't) but since I've been through 2 different starters and it's not working, I'm assuming its not the starters fault.. and no, I'm not hearing any relays.. the only thing I do hear is the fan turning on when I turned the key to the on position. =\

Interesting, the same night this happened I was adjusting my clutch pedal.. could you expand a bit on this..? The gold lever.. or the switch?

I've got an AEM in there.. but yea its plugged in.. should I look for something else too?

Take a light and flash it to the top of the clutch pedal lever and you will see where the lever meets the switch when the pedal is pushed in. The switch is black and there is a blue piece of plastic holding the switch to the bracket. Make sure that when you push the pedal, you can see the switch lever go into the switch. If no contact is made by the clutch lever, bend the bracket until it makes contact.

+1^ maybe its bent, hopefully its an easy fix.
