Who's got the Highest HP Daily Driver

I'm interested in seeing how much whp is actually streetable every day, not weekends, not once a month cars, at least driven 3 times a week, if you guys could post up your dyno results (what dyno, and no arguing about whether its a dynojet or mustang, just post up what you have and leave it at that) and possibly some time slips if you have them.

I'm looking for a direction to go and figured this would be the easiest way for me to see what people have working for them, rather than trial and error for me

And if you could post up your mod list to get said HP

*Mods, sorry if this has been covered, I searched but nothing came up. If there is another thread someone send me the link please*

iam driving my evo8 460whp, 450wtg every day , 7 days a week with e85, no problems yet. Really happy after converting to e85, boost came on very fast compare to 93 pump.

This is going to turn into a dyno war. You better stick with just the time slips, because people will argue DynoJet vs. Mustang numbers all day.

b16a95eg Jan 11, 2010 09:22 AM

Thats true, I'm interested to see some numbers though

penthouse Jan 11, 2010 09:29 AM

well b16, if it gonna to be a dyno war, then just try compare dynojet vs dynojet but not mustang vs mustang , cuz every md read different. All dynojet in america read about the same. Some mustang read 15% lower than dynojet, some equal numbers to dynojet. Hope this help.

470whp-412wtq pump/meth on Ams dyno. Drove it everyday and everywhere with absolutely no problems at all.

500-600 will probably be the avg. I'm going for low 500s. I drive my car to work everyday

2003lancerevo8 Jan 11, 2010 09:55 AM

I am guessing an average of 550 and the highs of 650-700.

I know sharkbite drives his Evo 9 with over well over 600 daily..

There are soo many proven ways to get to 500 whp its more of a budget to you....

do you wanna be like everyone else? do you want more torque out of your setup? evo blocks are usually safe up to around the 500 whp range, also depends how far your going to push the envelope and your tune to the safety of your block. you would probably at least want to do drop in pistons - springs and retainers...

full bolt on evo
e 85
FP black or Red

2.3 stroker
35R
bolt ons
e 85

there really is hundreds of options of getting to where you want to be.

I would suggest figuring out what else your goal for the car is. Just a DD / auto x / drag / time attack / high way monster

Next figure out your budget to accomplish your goals -

Just remember that you have the older body style - there are a lot of parts to reduce weight and still maintain a factory look. If you wanna go faster in an EVO - put the car on a diet.... not sure exactly what the conversion is for every ____ lbs but you can take some serious amount of weight out of the car. just my two cents

I wish the parts were available when i first built my car - I would have done weight reduction first and then started to build the car around that but thats just me.

I dd my evo with 505 and 475 and i couldn't ask for more, I went for a ride in a 700 whp evo and nearly shat myself..... lol

Stock with TBE only... for now :)

My goal is 400whp for my daily driver.

Thomas, from Modified Import Repair in Clarksville, TN daily drives his 2003 Evo with over 500whp and it's reliable enough that he puts both his young kids in the back on a regular basis. I think some of his mods are as follows:
GT35R with .82 hotside
dual valve springs with +1mm valves
built bottom end
balance shafts eliminated
2.0 disp with standard rod length
cometic head gasket
ported stock intake manifold
ported stock throttle body
AEM (used to be stock ECU with MAF-T pro for speed density)
1000+cc injectors
meth injection
twin disk
HKS DLi (or at least it used to be)
rebuilt tranny
motor mounts
probably a good bit of other stuff as well

car is still a full weight, a/c, power steering equipped, sunroof car

It's a very nice car and scares the crap out of most who ride in it but is civil enough to drive in traffic with no issues.

just keep the rpm under 5000 and boost under 20psi. 700 , 800 whp car is still ok to drive every day.

me too jmelo, i pick up my 2 babies from daycare with my 460 whp evo viii every day. :)

straight 92 octane Chevron pump: 511 awhp dynojet (509 corrected)

I commute more than 50 miles a day in Seattle Interstate 5 bump-n-go traffic! (at least the onramps are fun) {thumbup}

Dang Seattle/Everett traffic blows too!

Sharkbite2000 Jan 11, 2010 12:26 PM

You already know :)

P.S. I think my car will clear it's number's on almost any dyno ;)
