Don't know what happened...?
Don't know what happened to my post. I guess the moderators think I am doing a repost about the aged old STI vs EVO topic so they closed my thread. Anyways....just want to finish my post...
Original post by SoR the fact that you need to spend money on STi to fix the suspension due to the heavier front to get it near *stock* Evo is nonsense. yeah, I also read that if you want to correct the inherent STI understeer during turn-in, you have to re-adjust the stock camber from 0.0 to -0.5 or -1.0 <--(correct me if I am wrong, don't remember what STI stock camber is) and you also need the stiffer pink ProDrive springs at the front. With all that setup, and "IF" set up properly, will then get an STI to obtain a neurtal handling characteristic with which something a EVO come stock. For someone to jump through some many hoops just to get what a stock EVO inherently has doesn't make too much sense. If I was into drag racing I'd probably go with a Mustang Cobra or something similar (SRT-4) ... it's not why you get the Evo for. But thanks a lot for everyone who replied. I really appreciate it. {thumbup} It'd be great if more people can shine some light into this topic. But I don't think the moderators will like this... |

This is the thread you are talking about, right?
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...threadid=49830 I didn't close it. But I can only imagine that it was closed because the question was answered. But I do find it interesting how (in your first post) you are so worried about the Sti being faster than the Evo in a straight line. But out of the other side of your mouth (in this thread) you are saying that people who are interested in drag racing should get Mustangs. I'm going to suggest that you put down the mouse and keyboard and go out to the dealerships and take a few test drives. After you have done this, it will be abundantly clear to you why we own Evo's and not Sti's....and why we don't care that the Evo is a tenth or so quicker in a straight line. SC~ |
