Notory to register my evo???

I finally got the title to my evo after almost a month of waiting. Its in the name of the previous owner, and I need to get it notarized before I can tranfer. I'm in the state of PA, and my question is can I get it notarized without the seller being present? I have bill of sale and signatures on title, the seler lives over an hour away and I'm trying to save some hassle, any help is appreciated...

I just bought my Evo last week. I live in Kansas and the seller just signs the title and were done.
It seems funny for a buyer to have to have it notorized?

I had the same issue when I bought a car with a PA title..From what I know both byer and seller has to sign the title infront of the notory public if its a private sale...This only applies to PA titles though as i've bought cars from of other states,NY,CT,JRSY etc.. and the seller just signs and its good to go

I am from pa also and to answer your question.. Yes both buyer and seller has to be present. However you may be able to find a "cool" notary that would understand the circumstances and do it over the telephone.

Its not the buyer its notorizing the sellers signature to make sure you didnt steal the title and sign it to yourself and steal the car. So your answer is more then likely you will have to have the seller there at least in NC

Both parties must be present. PA titles suck my balls.
