so yeah, i've heard that they are top notch in snow but i have my doubts. everyone drives subaru's around here, but they all dream about having evo's. so if you've had experience with both, which is really better? i'll still love evo's either way.

Hankook Ipeaks + Evo = Snowmobile, we just had 15 inches and it was soo much fun! The Ipeaks are awesome, soo grippy in the snow its unbelievable.

I've driven both and both seem very capable in the snow. The evo is a more peaky engine than the subie so in that sense its a bit easier to drive a subie than an evo.

Oh and of course tires are the WORLD when it comes to snow. If you want a sled just try summer tires on ice lol.

End of the picture is get good tires and you'd enjoy either car.

Common sense ranks right up there with a good set of snow tires. Turn off your noodle in the snow, and you can just as easily get in trouble in an Evo as in anything else.

That said, my Evo with Blizzaks has been pretty outstanding this season, as it always has been.

I pray for snow.... I played around in my buddies sti and they don't feel too much different although I prefer my evo of course.

I was able to do better awd donuts lol.

i have crappy all seasons on my evo and it does amazing in the snow. My friend has blizzaks on his 06 sti and slid into a small tree and almost took out a fence... but that was due to him still learning to drive the car in the snow hahaha

if you have decent tires...

Kracka Feb 5, 2011 08:21 PM

WRX and Evo in my garage...they're both AWD and they're both great in the snow (we're originally from Minnesota). When it comes down to it though it will really depend on which has the better snow tires.

btownsoccer22 Feb 5, 2011 08:25 PM

from a stop you won't be spinning tires in the snow. but if you don't have the right tires and because the evo's engine is peaky if you give it a tad to much gas in a turn you will break loose.

WolfsFang Feb 5, 2011 08:28 PM

i have summer tires and i have gotten stuck at all. I live in high elevation in NJ since im by the mountains so we get more snow.

big mistake driving on summer tires... there is a reason they are summer and not winter tires...

Yup. Using summer tires in the cold/snow/ice is just plain dumb.
