gas smell when rev'd around 5k
 

like the title says i get an odd gas smell in the cab when i rev up to about 5k-6k. maybe its just a bad tune? i cant quite figure it out... any thoughts?

More information is needed, i.e. what mods are done to your car?

Do you have an aftermarket exhaust? Do you have your CAT still?

I've been getting the same thing right after my service and I brought it in to my school, I go for automotives, my instructor said that it might be a bag that was snagged underneither and is being burned by the exhaust -__- long behold when we lifted it there was some burnt stuff on the piping. We scrapped that off and on the drive home it still smelled so im taking it back in today to further investigate. Let me kno if u find the problem

Edit: tho in my case it smells more like oil over gas... maybe a mixture.

I just bought the car a couple weeks ago and couldnt find anything wrong under the hood. it only has 18k stock miles on it... Im a bit skeptical about the vishnu tune and think that might be the problem, but im still not quite sure.

Sounds like a cat delete. if the car was tuned it shouldn't smell much, but if it wasn't tuned after cat delete then it will be more pronounced

what kind of service did you have? After my 60k service a little oil spilled and my wrapped DP soaked it up and took a few days to burn off. I would smell it at idle after driving a while.

It started actually a lil before my 36k service so I took it to AWD thinking that it was my motor oil. After they changed all my fluids n belts I thought it would've fixed the problem but it hasn't. We checked for oil spills in class yesterday n found non so im bringing it back in and hopfully find the problem cause I don't have the funds to take it back in to be diagnosed n fixed :/....
