SLVRNBLK's TB Evo 8 (a sad story....)
 

I've been a member of this community for quite some time. I slowly built a reputation for having one of the cleanest Evo 8's around. I spent the past eight years modifying my Evo into what I envisioned as my dream car.

On March 16 of this year, those dreams came to a crashing end. I'd just picked the car up from finalizing the SD tune. It made 542hp 483tq on RT MD 500. On a road near my home, I gave it a quick 1-2 pull. When I hit the brakes, the car lost control, the rear end broke loose, and I went into a four wheel drift crashing passenger side onto a structure. It happened so fast, I was in a state of shock. EMS took me to the ER where I suffered laceration, stitches on my forehead, and a broken nose. I was very lucky. I learned an important life lesson that day. Unfortunately I learned it the hard way.

For a few weeks I was in a state of depression, but I was not going to let this incident stop me from owning my dream car. After settling all the aftermath, I went on a mission to find a new rig. Believe it or not, although the car was considered totaled, the Heart of the Lion, the power plant was undamaged. In fact, the car starts right up in it's current condition (poor girl). It was a no brainer, I was buying her back. See it for yourself:

On April 16, exactly 31 days from the accident, I purchased a 2005 Evo 8 (SSL). I tried my best to locate an Apex Silver, but Wicked White will have to do. One of the cleanest Evo 8 I've seen. I proudly named her White Lightning! She's pretty stock for now, but I have plans to transplant a few things in a secret mission I will call operation "BLACK to WHITE" A.K.A Project MJ. Despite this misfortune, things ended working out. I have a new found appreciation for life. My motivation and vision of owning my dream car again is in full swing!

Yes, we do man. I was just glad to hear from the guys that you weren't seriously injured. We'll all miss your car, but the new one looks awesome!

glad you're ok. same thing happened to me too but unfortunately, it was all shattered to pieces and a testament of luck or just how rigid the structure of the bodyshell of the evo is. To this day, I'm still on a lookout for a ggp IXMR.

Wow glad to see your okay, and sorry about your old Evo. But congrats on the new one!

Sorry to hear that, but how did insurance handle the claim considering your car was so heavily modified? Did you get money back for your mods or did they just pay you what it was stock? Or did you have issues of them even paying you out due to it being so heavily modified?
