all the moldings @ bottom of window is doing this. are the moldings able to be painted. really starting to piss me off lol |
Nah, not here.
Has the car ever been painted? Looks like some sort of chemical spray reaction. |
nope car never been painted.
My evo has what looks to be the same thing, but have I have no idea what it is
mine looks like that, I plan on replacing it after winter.
i was wondering if it could be painted. feels like its metal and not rubber. would def. be cheaper to paint. but i havent looked up prices yet.
Looks like regular sun damage to me. The outside trim on Evo's seems to be pretty poor quality. I wax my car and the trim about 4 times a year and that keeps the trim looking decent enough. I did see an Evo at a show a few weeks ago that had all its trim painted body color, with the exception of the door pillars. So it seems that it is feasible to paint it.

^ did it being painted body color look good, or out of place?
I'm getting that too.. But mine's not as bad.

It looked a bit different, but not out of place. You could paint it black so it looks stock, but is more durable and can be waxed like the rest of the car.

looks like sun damage
I'm going to have to agree with sun damage. Before I bought my Evo, it wasn't garaged and in the hot Florida sun. Once I bought, it has been garaged and the "damage" hasn't gotten any worse..
Unless it's something from the humidity..? |
Looks sun faded to me, you can pick up the entire molding kit from Mitsubishi for around $200 or so, as I remember someone posting one in the for sale section before.
At least its not starting to peel like the 1g dsms. Paint it black and forget about it.
