What's your experience with V-Band exhaust?
Wanted some opinions, any bad stories, good stories, anything?
I have a V-Band exhaust and have had no issues at all.
I've been looking around, some people dont like it, some people do. Have you had any leak issues?
Nope. I love the fact it uses no gaskets and is super easy to remove if need be. What exhaust were you looking at getting?
Well, I already got the Muse 3" V-Band, but didn't start to double think it until today
I would give it a shot... if you have issues swap it out for a different exhaust.
v-band is the cleanest way to go in my opinion, clean i mean fitment, install, etc. Ive been contemplating on switching for a while now.
I used to have v band on my jun bl exhaust and loved it. Never had any problems with leaks and literally took 5 min and I could have the whole exhaust out from under the car.
Did a v-band set up on a buddies turbo s2k, by far v-band is the best way to go, it also saves on some money if you have to remove it, no gaskets needed to be replaced.
I can't think of any legitimate reasons to dislike a v-band setup. A lot of my friends are running them and have no issues, and we've done plenty here on customer and project cars. Also, like others said... No more gaskets!
A lot of people already pointed this out, but the ease of removing it is unreal along with the fact that you wouldn't have to spend money on new gaskets every time you remove it.
I've had the AMS TBE along with RRE stealth exhaust and its always a pain to remove since I had to undo all the bolts. and half the time they are already rusted so that is also a B*tch. Try it out, if not just switch back to your old exhaust and sell the V-band setup. |
whats not to not like about v- band? no rusted bolts that could potentially snap. no more bloody knuckles trying to get the exhaust off, no more gaskets, etc etc. you shouldnt worry if you already ordered a v-band setup, you will be glad you did.
As long as the clamps are good quality and the flanges are true, you shouldn't have any leaks. I personally think its a much cleaner install as well.
Sweet deal, good to hear everyone's opinions on this. I'll have to wait until the spring time to put it on anyways, but I'm a little more comfortable after hearing all the good things.
i dont have a v band exhaust but wouldnt mind getting one (not going to switch just bc of money) but i dont see any reason why you wouldnt love it. no more gaskets would be the biggest plus in my opinion. dont have to worry about replacing them once you take it off and put it back on, no leaks, easy to uninstall etc. great option imo
