Car won't start, No crank or ignition...

My car was running fine, I parked at work in the morning and later tried turning it on and nothing. No crank. it was just as if you were trying to start your car without stepping on the clutch, nothing happens.

I got my battery tested and they said i needed a new one, so i replaced it but ut's still doing the same thing. There's no ignition, no crank, but lights come on in the interior.

Is it the starter? I checked my fuses under the hood and it's all good.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

check your ignition switch. As for the starter just jump a wire from the positive battery terminal to your starter B+ terminal to see if it crank. That will eliminate your starter if its the problem. You can also do a voltage drop, and use a test light to see if your switch is getting 12v.

I'll try that, but my battery gauge is on 12v when I switch the ignition. It drops to 0 volts when I attempt to start it. I wonder if all the juice is going to the starter?

it isnt your starter...it will still try to crank if it is your starter. I would check the igniton switch for sure.

When you re-connected the battery are the terminals tight enough so that they cannot be wiggled at all?

I actually went under the car and banged the crap out of the starter and it turned on. I would've never guess it was the starter :confused:

I'll be getting it replaced, thanks for all the help! {thumbup}
