Why so many Evo's for sale with low mileage on mods?

Just curious why there are so many? People didn't like the cars after? Too harsh? Unreliable? What gives?

Many people get bored with cars, they build what they want, once they have what they wanted, they want something more. So they sell and move onto new platforms

My previous owner had it for 5 years and it was right under 45k. He did use for track and he sold it for build his race evo.

Evo owners treat their cars like Ferraris and many owners save their mileage for resale reasons, etc.

This thread I made discusses the topic in depth:

to be honest the best part of the build is the build, once its done its time to do something else.

If your car had the ssl package i'd be flying in tommorow. I just can't stand those blue seats. Is that why you prefer the X?

Most Evo owners have other cars for their commuter vehicles. They use the Evo for something special, either track days, or cruising in nice weather. Why burn miles on your beautiful baby in crap weather or stuck in traffic? Also, modded cars are finicky *****es... they can be beautiful and super fun to spend time with, but there is always something new being added or something old breaking. Even the most perfectly built car will have quirks, and the owner will get tired/bored and want something with more of whatever he feels he's lacking... power, luxury, a different look, etc.

My Evo will be a daily driver, but I suspect that many are fun cars for the weekends. I think some may buy them, throw on a couple of bolt ons and once the little bugs pop up, they arent mechanically inclined enough to deal with them without taking it to a shop, so they get frustrated and move on to something else. Of course the bugs pop up even on stock cars, '03's are now going on 10 years old. Things start breaking, bigger maintenance items need to be addressed etc. Some people just dont want to mess with that.

Yes.

Folks go though builds swayed by high numbers and don't fully realize what that sort of thing involves. We have a car with a 2.0L of displacement and only so much is possible, assuming one wants a machine that's fun to drive all the time. There are also reliability issues stemming from the same, and the cars do become very harsh when an ignoramus installs an overly stiff suspension hoping to win points at a show and then wonders why it hops over road anomalies and shakes his kidneys silly. From the factory, the car is dead-reliable and a hoot to drive. The aftermarket and the owners take care of the rest.
