Help evo ix won't start
Hi my car has 45k miles only mods are exhaust and tune, both installed over 30,000 miles ago. This morning I got in turned the key, and it just cranked over and over without any firing. I am thinking either no fuel or no spark. The car was running fine yesterday. I was able to drive my antique to work today, because teh weather is nice, but I need to try to fix this this afternoon, so any suggestions to help streamline my trouble shooting would be greatly appreciated. If it is going to rain at all I cannot drive my Pantara. It has no wipers and a leaky door seal, plus I don't want rust.

Any way to check the codes? Unhook your battery and let it sit. Wouldn't hurt to change plugs if you havn't for awhile but thats not likely the problem. Sounds kinda strange sorry Im not much help. Let us know what you find. Id change your fuel pump out to a 255 just cause its easy and cheap and eliminates one more thing.

have you done any mods or maintenance work to your car? Just trying to have an accurate analysis of your issue.

OK I got home checked for spark and found none. I checked all of the engine fuses, and Fuse #8 was blown. According to the manual Fuse #8 in the engine bay is the ECU. I put a new fuse in. Let it idle for about 5 minutes. Then I put it in reverse started letting the clutch out and gave a little gas, and it died. So what would cause the ECU fuse to blow?

I figured it out. It is amazing that I can always find the threads I need with google, but not this sites own search engine. The rear O2 sensor wire came out of the little wire twisty thing, and when I reveres it would rub and catch on the u joint on the drive shaft. I had posted a few weeks ago about a noise when I backed up even in neutral. I think it was the thud thud of being tugged by the knuckle on the u joint and then releasing. Any way the rubber wore off the wire, and it shorted blowing the fuse. I taped it up and zip tied it out of the way, and 2 problems solved.
