What's an Evo VI Tommi Makinen Edition Worth?
Hey guys, my wife and I got into talking about the possibility of 2013 being the last year for he Evo. That got me wondering about the possibility of the 2013 holding it's value if not driven daily and kept pristine. Which also led me to question the value of older special edition Evos…
Of course, the Evo VI Tommi Makinen edition comes to mind. I tried doing a couple of searches but found nothing conclusive. What would one of those cars be worth in the US? Say… in mint condition and low miles… like 40,000 miles or so. What about other past Evo models. Anything else worth even more than a Tommi car? Discuss… |
its worth whatever a "serious collector" will pay for it, cars today are mass produce by the 100's of thousands....50yrs ago cars were made differently and hand crafted hence the top value nowadays.

not to mention, I just don't see an Evo X being something overly desired someday. For a lot, it's not desirable even today.

My friend has one here in Jamaica selling for 1.2 million which would be about $13,000 us

6TME might be worth alot if super low miles. But its still a Mitsubishi. The X? Agree with above. I bet in 30 years a IX in perfect shape will be worth more than a X. Plus Im sure they will make another one. Its the only decent car they make! If they stop the evo they will be worthless.

seriously^ the evo was the best car mitsu produced.. i just dont understand how they could stop making it...

Economics man. Supply and demand, they only sold about 13,000 Evo's last year in the US. Thats not a lot of profit for a multi-national multi-billionaire company.
Evo X's failed horribly. They won't hold thier value as much as the VI thru IX will. |

Evo X's failed horribly. They won't hold thier value as much as the VI thru IX will. because I see quite the opposite .. |
^^^ ok so where are your facts..... Just gonna comment and not put anything else.

If you want an older Evo or Skyline, the UK is the cheapest place to get one. I've seen Evo VI's go for 5-9k, and older Skylines go for 3-5k! There was even an Evo VIII FQ-400 for sale for £19,000 which is a steal considering they were about 80k USD..when they were first sold. The problem, is making them road legal! If you bought one just to trailer to SCCA, or NASA..that would be the best way to use them here. I don't think most Japanese sports cars will get the kind of money old muscle cars and euro cars get in twenty years, but you never know.

^It's not a profitable car for Mitsu... But the evo really never was that profitable... It was a "limited production" car before, now they made so many of the X's that I can't possibly see them holding their value like the previous generations did.

i would assume a TME evo, would be in the value range possibly $10,000 to $15,000 possibly more, considering they aren't easy to come by especially here in the U.S
To all the butt hurt X owners, let's be real the evo X has not and WILL NOT out sell the amounts of evos 8 and 9.... before some smartass asks for proof or statistics, i don't have it, nor do i feel like looking it up. all owners of the previous gens KNOW that the X is the red headed step child of all models evo. Any former evo 8 or 9 owner who traded in for a X just did so to get into a new car, and from numerous posts on here i have seen, most have regret doing so.... The other portion of X owners are just people who have heard the hype about owning one, so they jumped on the bandwagon as well. To the people asking for statistics, do yourself a favor and just search through these forums, there is your proof. also if your feelings are still hurt, remember your not in the X sub section anymore {thumbdwn} |
