So it's bloody cold out in NJ AND.......
My car overheats. And has a boilover out of the reservoir tank.
Had to add more coolant once it cooled down and can pop the rad cap safely. I don't think anything got hurt and I wasn't driving hard at all. Just barely crawling it around. Happen to anyone else today? Any ideas Frozen coolant? Is that even possible? |
Check both rad hoses for heat. If one is cold and one is hot, you've got rad/thermostat issues. Lacking that, make sure your cooling fans arent frozen in place - spin them by hand to check. Last but not least, look for coolant around the timing cover. See what ya end up with.

And what coolant/water ratio are you running? Hopefully 50/50.. I know it sounds like a stupid question but ive seen people forget to switch there summer coolant mix (ie 70% water/ 30% coolant or Water & Water Wetter) out before winter.. I know its pretty cold over there right now. |
Duh still had summer coolant. It boiled out a lot so it now has about 2/3 of winter coolant. No more probs. yep it's cold and expecting a snowstorm. Drifting time. Lol
