Car won't run please help any ideas

As I turned on a street I stepped on the gas when all of a sudden it turned off on me and now it won't turn on it sounds like it wants to but then it don't

Did you blow the intake off the throttle body ?

Fabillionaire Mar 9, 2013 02:16 PM

Sounded like something popped though when I tried gunning it. It just like not a very loud pop but a little one and now won't star but the intake looks in place

Get an obd scanner and check for codes, if no codes check for a busted coupler.

Check ur starter and battery volts...it maybe be a simple fix.

A starter wouldn't cause the car to shut off. Check for a coupler disconnected. Post a video if you can.

Yea it's not the starter that's new and I have enough voltage like at 14 ill try to post a video tomorrow I'm somewhat of a newbie in most things on these cars but thanks ya

Definitely check the intake like stated above. All the piping to be safe. It could also be as simple as one of the battery cables being to loose and when you got on it the cable shifted enough to lose connection.

So did the odb and found 0340 camshaft sensor replaced that and stil nothing timing is good so what else

Check : Fuse #8 Engine Control. This is the most common fuse among evo to give when wires are not grounded properly. Mine made a popping noise when a few wires touched each other.

Fabillionaire Mar 11, 2013 04:41 PM

Nope not no fuses

how about the lower ic coupler-- check also for breaks or cut in the couplers.. have seen these both.

Wait... jesus.

Can we do some logical diagnosis here?

1. What do you mean the car just "turned off". Did it stutter, did it shake, give me something to work with here.
2. What kind of mods do you have?
3. How long have you owned the car? (Roughly)
4. It wasn't throwing a code at first, but then it did? What caused this?
5. Did you replace the Cam Sensor because it was bad, or because you threw the code? Are you familiar with that code on your vehicle... it's sort of a complex problem.

Get us some of that info, and it will be easier to diagnose rather than just shouting out random sh*t that could be wrong. :)

1. I tried doing a run once I turned on a street and it kinda sounded like something popped not much of a Big Bang or loud noise and it turned off while rolling to a stop
2. Injen intake, greddy bov, greddy boost controller electronic and that's basic just it
3. I've owned the car a whopping 1 month haha bought it from some dude it has about 85,xxx miles also checked the timing belt and its lined correctly didn't jump
4. I replaced the sensor because it gave me that code cleared it and tried starting it up an nothing
