Say you didn't drive your car for about 2 months...
 

My car has more or less been sitting since December, and i decided to take her out today since it's pretty nice out...

the first few miles i was hearing somewhat of a grinding noise when i applied the brakes... that sound eventually went away, but the rotors are still not clean of the oxidation...

I was gettting on the brakes pretty good, and thought i had them heated up enough to burn through that ****...

I hope i don't have pad transfer again... there are a few rings that seem not to be going away...

i only went about 9-10 miles on the trip...

It should go away after you use the brakes some more. Kinda like washing your car and the brakes rust up.

I have seen bright orange rusted rotors on brand new cars that have been sitting in lots for extended periods of time. Should not be a problem, it will wear off.

I'm with Diesel...mine has been garaged since December too. GOD I miss her. Guess I should go check her brakes too!

Accelerate to 100mph or so, then hit the brakes hard. I guarentee you after that you won't have anything on them.

I left my beater sitting for a while and it took a good number of miles to get rid of the odd sounds/feel associated with braking. I would imagine some more driving will "fix" it ;)

I didn't drive my car for about 3 weeks and now it brakes like ****. Steering wheel shakes when braking at low speeds. It only used to do this at highway speeds but now its like all the time. Do you think brakubg hard will cure this problem or is it resurfing time for the rotors again?

Don't sweat it. It's just surface oxidization.

hooptie, your rotors sound like they are warped. I would just buy new ones if you have already had the current ones resurfaced once.

DAMN!!!! Could not driving it for 3 weeks do that?

I left mine undriven for only 1 week in wet humid weather (no garage) and it took about 300 miles before they were back to normal. Got the 4 little pops from the discs when I first moved it too.

yeah mine popped as well... i was actually stuck on my driveway which is about a 30 degree incline...

i had the clutch in, and no brakes and i didn't even move an inch...

well, they cleaned up a little but maybe they will clear up some more over time... but it looks like what happened with my rotors before...

i'm thinking these stock rotors/pads are complete ****...

Unless you park on a hill, it's probably not wise to use your Ebrake if you plan to not drive the car for a while. That pop is actually the brake pads 'cold welding' to the rotor. The longer you leave it parked, the stronger the weld. Also, if it is below freezing, you risk moisture getting in there and freezing up...and that can lead to your car being immobile when you want to drive it.
