High compression on stock block block with s2's
So I have 195-200 psi across the board. Any reason that would happen? Or maybe when i bought the car it had drop ins in it and the guy never told me? Bought it with 17k miles now has 73k miles. Never pulled the head or oil pan, but I might be doing that in the near future if this compression seems odd to anyone. Any opinions? Thanks.

Also its a 2003 evo 8 and always run cali piss 91

Look in the spark plug holes and see if you have stock pistons. Stock pistons have a circle cast right in the center and say 63dt on them.

Did you have throttle open when doing compression test?

You can see with the naked eye if you don't have a bore scope handy.

Just to be clear I have all ready eliminated all of the other common sense possibilities. I wouldn't be posting on here if it were a common sense kind of answer. Thanks for the input though. There is something weird going on and just seeing if anyone has had this same situation come up before. |
I've have narrowed it down to the previous owner either threw in some drop ins and just didn't tell me about it or I have some massive carbon build up and it's making me have higher compression pressure. Anyone have any other possibilities they can come up with?
